Our Engagement Photos | Moncton Wedding Photographer

Last December, I wrote a post with tips on how to choose the right wedding photographer. It’s funny how life works, because a few weeks later, I found myself newly engaged (horray!) and giving some thought to our own wedding and, inevitably, who would capture it. It’s actually a question that I get  a lot when I mention that I am engaged. Most people assume it was a difficult choice for us, but it was one of the easiest in the planning process so far. While I did shop around a little to compare prices and offer Trevor some options to consider, he fully trusted me to make an executive decision and left it in my hands. (Muahahah!)

While I follow the work of so many AHMAZING photographers worldwide via social media, there is one Canadian gal that stole my heart with her amazing eye a long time ago. From the start I knew that west-coast photographer Ryan Macdonald’s candid style would be the best choice for us. I just needed to meet her to make sure that we would be a good fit. So! We had a Skype date and not only was she easy to talk to and lovely, but I also felt that I could trust her immediately (that could also be due to the fact that I’m easily charmed by cute accents). I was over the moon that she was available and even more pumped that she would also be able to take engagement portraits during one of her 2014 East Coast visits.

Saying we LOVE these photos would be an understatement. It was a misty, cold and miserable day in Cape Breton and we did have a close encounter with the world’s largest spider…but it was a blast. It felt great to finally be ‘the clients’, to share that experience with Trevor and explore stunning Cape Breton for the first time with a local. The best part was getting the opportunity to work with someone like Ryan who is every bit as professional and charming as she is talented. Also, I got to snuggle my gorgeous man for 2 hours (win!). I can’t wait to see how she captures our big day, but for now, enjoy some of Ryan’s beautiful work below:

All Photographs from this post are the work of Ryan Macdonald.
